Privacy Policy

The short version

• You upload a photo of yourself. It is used to make pictures of you in clothes.
• Making those pictures means sending your photo to the AI providers we work with. There is no version of WearIt where that does not happen.
• Your photos and your looks are private to your account unless you share them.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
• You can delete any of it, at any time.

Who we are

WearIt is the app described on this site. If you have a question about your data, or you want something deleted, email us at privacy@wearit.now and we will get back to you.

What WearIt does

You upload one photo of yourself. We use it to generate a few images of you, and you pick one — that becomes your model. From then on, when you send us a picture of a piece of clothing, we produce an image of you appearing to wear it. Those images are stored privately in your account.

Everything below follows from that.

What we collect

Your account

You can use WearIt without an account: we give your phone an anonymous account, identified by a random id. If you create an account, we also keep your email address, or the sign-in you use from Apple or Google. We never see your password.

Your photos — the sensitive part

• The photo of yourself that you upload, and the model we build from it.
• Pictures of clothing you send us — screenshots, product photos, camera shots.
• The looks we generate for you.
• The body shape you choose for your model. We also read your full-body photo once, so that shape is described the right way for a woman or a man when your model is built. You choose the shape yourself; the read is never shown to you as a label and is used for nothing else.
• If you scan your wardrobe, the short video you film. We process it as soon as it arrives, keep at most eight still frames from it as ordinary garment photos, and delete the video itself within minutes. It is recorded without sound; we never ask for your microphone.
• Pictures of garments you keep in your closet, plus what our AI reads from them — the category, the colour, the pattern. That is a guess about the garment, never about you, and you can correct any of it.

Upload only photos of yourself. Not another person, and never a child. We refuse to generate from a photo where our checks suggest someone may be under 18.

Your face. The photos you give us show your face, and so do the images we make from them. We treat them as photographs and nothing more: we do not run face recognition, we do not measure or extract facial features, and we do not create or keep any biometric data. Your face is never used to identify you, to unlock anything, or to match you against anyone else. It is deleted with your photo.

Links you share

When you paste a link, or use our browser extension on a shop, we receive the page address, its title, the image you picked, and the product information the page already publishes. The extension only sends this when you click it. It does not watch what you browse.

Signing in on a computer with your phone

You can sign in to the WearIt website, or connect the browser extension, by scanning a code with the app. Before you approve, your phone shows you what is asking: which browser it is (for example “Chrome on macOS”) and roughly where the request came from (for example “near Tirana, Albania”).

We work out that rough location from the request’s internet address, at city level at best — it is often wrong on mobile networks and VPNs. It is there so you can spot a code someone else has passed off as yours: if the city is not where you are, do not approve. Both details are deleted within the hour, approved or not.

How the app is working

Which screens get used, what succeeds and what fails, and crash reports. These counts never carry your photos, or links to them. The screen recording described below is separate, and the pictures are in it.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we keep the token your phone gives us for delivering them, with the scrambled phone string described below and the app version. We use it to tell you when a look you asked for is ready, and — only if you turn it on — for tips and new features. We keep a record that a notification was sent and whether it arrived, never its text, for 45 days.

A count of your free try-ons, kept against your phone

Your free try-ons are counted against your phone as well as your account. Without it, deleting the app and installing it again would hand out a fresh set of free try-ons, every time.

Your phone does not send us its identifier. On Android it scrambles the one it already has; on iPhone, where there is no such thing, the app makes up a random number the first time you use it and keeps it on that phone. Either way it is scrambled before it leaves, and we scramble the result again with a secret of our own before storing it. What we hold is a string nobody can turn back into your phone, or into you. It stays on the one phone — it is not synced to your other devices.

This is the one thing that outlives deleting your account. Everything else goes — your photos, your looks, your closet, your account. What stays is that scrambled string and a number. It carries no name, no email and nothing that leads back to you, and it stays because a count that resets when you delete your account is not a count. One consequence worth saying: a shared phone shares an allowance.

What we never collect

Your location, beyond the rough city a sign-in request comes from (above). Your contacts. Your browsing history. Your payment details. Health data. Body measurements — WearIt shows how something looks, it makes no claim about sizing, so there is no reason for us to hold them.

We record your screen

As you use the app we record what is on the screen and send that recording to UXCam, a product-analytics company, so we can see where WearIt is confusing. Your photo, the garments you send us and the looks we generate are on those screens, so they are in the recording. Anything you type is hidden.

This one has no switch. It is on for everyone, and we tell you so on the screen you agree to before your first upload, and again in Settings → Privacy and data. UXCam processes the recordings on our instructions, under contract, and stores them in the EU. They are never used to train AI models and never shared for advertising.

What happens to your photos

Making a try-on means sending your photo to the AI providers we work with, and they process it on our behalf. This is how the images are made, so there is no way to use WearIt without it. We tell you this, and name the providers, on a screen you have to read and agree to before you can upload anything.

We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not publish them.

Every image WearIt generates carries a marker identifying it as AI-generated. We deliberately leave that in place.

Who else is involved

Besides our AI providers, we use a small number of companies to run the service — to host the app and its data, to store images, to email you sign-in codes, to deliver notifications, and to tell us when something has crashed or gone wrong. They act on our instructions, under contract, and only for the purposes above.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

WearIt is available in many countries, so your data may be handled outside the one you live in. Wherever that happens, we put appropriate protections in place with the companies involved.

How long we keep things

Until you delete them — your account, your photo, your looks and your closet all stay until you remove them or close your account. Short-lived things like sign-in codes and expired share links are cleared automatically.

Deleting in the app is not just a flag. The stored images are removed.

One exception is the scrambled phone count above, which stays so that deleting an account is not a way to start the free try-ons again. It is a string and a number, and it identifies nobody.

The browser name and rough location shown when you sign in with your phone are deleted within the hour.

Screen recordings are held by UXCam for 30 days and then deleted.

A wardrobe video is deleted within minutes. Notification tokens go when you sign out or delete your account, and a token your phone has retired is removed 90 days later. Records of the requests the app makes — which screen called which part of our service, and whether it worked, never your photos — are kept for 30 days to fix problems.

Sharing a look

Nothing you make is public unless you create a share link yourself.

When you do, anyone with that link can see that one image and the date — not your name, your email, where it came from, or any of your other looks. The page says the image is AI-generated. You can switch the link off at any time and it stops working immediately, and links expire on their own.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, withdraw your consent, or get a copy to take elsewhere. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Whatever the law where you are, these are always available:

• Delete your account — in the app, Settings → Privacy and data → Delete my account. It happens straight away and removes your photos, your looks, your closet and your account.
• Delete your photo, or all your looks — Settings → Privacy and data.
• Without the app — follow app.wearit.now/legal/delete-account, or email privacy@wearit.now and we will take care of it within a month.

Because generating images relies on your consent, withdrawing it means we can no longer make looks for you. It does not undo anything that already happened.

Keeping it safe

Your photos are stored privately — never in a public place — and are only reachable through short-lived links. Everything is encrypted as it travels. We do not log your images or the links to them. We strip camera metadata, including any location, from photos before we store them.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Age

WearIt is for adults. You need to be 18 or older, and we ask you to confirm that when you sign up. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18, and we refuse to generate images from photos where our checks suggest someone may be under 18. If you believe a child is using WearIt, email privacy@wearit.now and we will remove the account.

Changes to this policy

If we change how your photos are handled, we will ask for your agreement again rather than relying on a notice you might not read.
